for my sins!
This newsletter features a camping chair, interesting interviews, and fanfic follies.
Hello! You’ve reached kelsey’s corner, the only newsletter on the internet written and lovingly curated by me, Kelsey. This edition was written from the comfort of my standing desk.
And I'm sure I've seen much hotter men
But I really can't remember when
interview corner | Ayo Edebiri! Paul Mescal, for my sins!
general consumption corner | From AO3 to Barnes and Noble, fanfiction has become mainstream. Have you ever wondered why people feel obligated to collect every single color of Stanley tumblers? And, the only RushTok explainer you’ll ever need.
I’m gonna be honest with you: all I’ve been watching lately is old episodes of 48 Hours. Like, episodes of 48 Hours with cases I’ve seen covered on Dateline. All that preamble is to say the lore and possible child labor law violations of Dear Hannah Prep, a Justice-esque boutique in Texas, has utterly captivated me. The Dear Hannah Prep girls should probably unionize.
This movie is shaping up to be another W for the gorgeous and proud nation of Ireland, I think. I will be watching it from between my fingers.
As summer comes to a close, I want to say I’m a huge fan of this reasonably priced five-pound camping chair from Amazon. I (reluctantly) bought it after misplacing my super-lightweight one earlier this summer and I love how a) you don’t have to assemble it and b) it feels incredibly sturdy. It also has a neat little pocket to throw my phone in!
I’ve bought so many things lately but none of them have arrived yet. Here’s a small list: my beloved RecTrek pants in this gorgeous green color, two 2024 Hobonichis1 and an A5 cover, a tiny haul from the J. Crew Factory Labor Day sale, and a slew of magnetic bookmarks for the aforementioned Hobonichis. Reviews to come, I guess!
How long have I looked at this picture of Alden Ehrenreich? Yes.
I’m not a football fan; this is a fact that my mom would find deeply depressing. However, I’ve recently become obsessed with the New York Jets and their collective passion for Broadway. They loved Back to the Future! They all went and saw Chicago together!
A nice little comic of my ideal evening. Not Bucky’s ideal evening, but such is life.
I saw the Jonas Brothers pre-it being Joever and I had a very nice time, even if my merch order hasn’t shipped yet. Nothing more life-affirming than hearing a bunch of young ladies singalong to Lovebug (2007) on a beautiful Chicago evening with your two BFFs2.
Coming up we have a Cubs game, a Sox game, Who? Weekly live, and a theatrical screening of Ocean’s Eleven. I’m excited and already tired!
It’s been too hot out so he demands to be carried. Who I am to say no?
I’ll be back on September 22 (hopefully) revitalized by the cooler weather in the city. In the meantime, why don’t you check out this tweet that made me laugh. And, if you want to follow me around the internet you can find a link to my other socials here.

If you want to try a Hobonichi next year I’d suggest buying from Atlas Stationers here in Chicago. Save yourself the Japanese shipping fees! (I did not do this and I feel dumb.)
One of them might read this on the toilet as they hide from their students.
